Backyard Marriage Celebration on Lake Toxaway

Matt and Alex had the right idea: get married quietly without any stress or fuss and then get all of the family and friends together almost a year later to celebrate. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE weddings (not to mention, if we didn't have them I'd be out of a job!), but whereas weddings can be understandably taxing, Matt and Alex's marriage celebration yesterday was nothing but enjoyable. 

On top of that, everything about this beautiful event was so personal: It took place in Alex's parents' lakeside home, even using the boat dock as the dance floor, Alex's father's band played the cocktail hour music, all of their close friends (and family) made heartwarming and tearjerking speeches and everyone there was genuinely happy for the newlyweds and their son. Thank you so much to all who made this celebration truly special - I can't wait to share more photos!
